Upload Shipping Evidence
Last Updated: 2025-12-05 23:00 UTC
When You Need This
For most shipments sent via FedEx, UPS, or USPS, we automatically verify delivery through carrier tracking systems. You don't need to do anything extra.
But for freight shipments — ODFL, XPO, Estes, ABF, SAIA, and other trucking companies — carrier tracking systems often don't have the delivery confirmation we need to build a strong dispute. For these shipments, you'll need to upload your signed Bill of Lading (BOL) or Proof of Delivery.
How to Know If You Need to Upload Evidence
In your Sniper dashboard, look for claims marked "Missing Evidence" or showing an orange "Upload BOL" button. These are claims where we found a matching shipment but couldn't verify delivery automatically.
You can also filter your claims by "Evidence Status: Incomplete" to see all claims that need attention.
What to Upload
The most important document is a signed Bill of Lading (BOL). This is the document your carrier had the receiving warehouse sign when they delivered the shipment.
A good BOL shows:
- A signature from someone at the retailer's warehouse
- The delivery date
- The quantity received
- The dock or location where it was delivered
If you have a separate Proof of Delivery (POD) from the carrier, that works too. The key is having something signed that shows the shipment arrived.
How to Upload
One at a Time
- Go to your Sniper dashboard
- Find the claim that needs evidence
- Click the "Upload BOL" button (or click into the claim details and find the Evidence section)
- Select your file — we accept PDF, PNG, or JPG
- Click Upload
After you upload, we'll re-analyze the claim. You should see your win probability improve within a few minutes.
Bulk Upload (Multiple Files)
If you have a lot of BOL files to upload, use our Bulk Evidence Matcher:
- Go to the Deductions page
- Click "Bulk Upload BOLs" in the top right
- Drag and drop all your BOL files at once (up to 50)
- We'll automatically match files to claims by filename
Naming tip: Name your files with the PO number (e.g., PO-123456.pdf or 123456-BOL.pdf) and we'll match them automatically.
Where to Find Your BOLs
Your shipping department — Most companies keep BOLs in their shipping software, transportation management system, or physical files.
Your carrier — You can request copies from the carrier's customer portal, your account rep, or their documentation department.
The retailer — If you shipped FOB Destination (meaning the retailer owns the goods once they're delivered), the receiving signature is on their copy. You may need to contact your buyer or logistics contact at the retailer to get a copy.
Tips for Good Scans
- Make sure the signature is clearly visible
- Include all pages if it's a multi-page document
- Rotate the image so text is right-side up
- Keep file size under 10 MB
What Happens Next
Once you upload evidence:
- We securely store the document
- We re-analyze the claim with the new evidence
- Your win probability updates (usually improves significantly)
- The evidence gets included in your dispute packet
Claims that were "Missing Evidence" will move to "Ready to File" once you've uploaded what we need.
