Finding Your Walmart Claims Data

Last Updated: 2025-12-05 22:45 UTC

This guide shows you where to find your shortage claim data in Walmart Retail Link so you can fill in the Plixo template.

Overview

Sniper uses a template-based workflow. You don't upload Walmart's export directly — instead, you copy the relevant data into our standardized template. This ensures consistent formatting across all retailers.

What you'll do:

  1. Export or view your claims in Walmart Retail Link
  2. Copy the data into the Plixo deductions template
  3. Upload the filled template to Sniper

Step 1: Navigate to AP Deductions

  1. Go to retaillink.wal-mart.com
  2. Sign in with your Retail Link credentials
  3. Navigate to FinancialAP Deductions

Step 2: Filter Your Claims

  1. Date range: Set to the last 45 days (Walmart's dispute window)
  2. Status: Filter by open/pending claims
  3. Deduction type: Focus on Code 22 (shortage claims)

Step 3: Export or View the Data

Click Download or Export to get a CSV, or work directly from the screen.

You need these columns from Walmart:

Walmart Column Plixo Template Column
Claim Number / Deduction ID Claim_ID
PO / Purchase Order PO_Number
Deduction Amount Amount
Deduction Date Claim_Date

Step 4: Fill the Plixo Template

Open your downloaded plixo-deductions-template.csv and add the data:

Claim_ID,Retailer,PO_Number,Claim_Date,Amount,Reason
WMT-2024-001,Walmart,PO-445566,2024-11-15,2100.00,Shortage
WMT-2024-002,Walmart,PO-778899,2024-11-16,650.75,Shortage

Important notes:

  • Set Retailer to "Walmart" for all rows
  • Set Reason to "Shortage" for all shortage claims
  • Remove any non-shortage claims — Sniper skips them

Understanding Walmart Deduction Codes

Code Type Sniper Support
Code 22 Shortage (items not received) ✅ Fully automated
Code 24 OTIF / On-Time In-Full penalty ⚠️ Manual review
Code 26 Compliance (labeling, packaging) ⚠️ Manual review
Code 50 Co-op / Marketing ⚠️ Manual review

Sniper focuses on Code 22 shortage claims because they have the highest win rate when you have shipping evidence.

The 45-Day Deadline

Walmart gives you 45 days from the deduction date to file a dispute. This is shorter than Amazon's 60-day window.

Sniper tracks these deadlines and prioritizes claims that are about to expire.

Tip: Export your claims at least twice a month to catch new ones before they expire.

A Note About Split Shipments

Sometimes Walmart files one deduction that spans multiple POs or multiple shipments. When you fill in your shipments template, make sure to include all related shipments so Sniper can add up the total quantity you shipped and compare it accurately.

Troubleshooting

Can't access AP Deductions? You need specific permissions in Retail Link. Contact your Walmart buyer or Retail Link support to get access to the Financial section.

Missing recent deductions? Walmart sometimes has a 24-48 hour delay before new deductions show up. Check back if you know claims should be there.

Getting a download link by email? For large exports, Retail Link sometimes sends you a link instead of an immediate download. Just use that link to get your file.

Multiple supplier IDs? If you have claims under different Walmart supplier IDs, you can combine them into one template upload as long as they're all for the same Plixo organization.

Next Steps

After filling in your deductions template:

  1. Fill in your shipments template
  2. Upload both files to Sniper
  3. Review your claims and generate dispute packets
